Star of Bethlehem
This little ram is half merino and half baa baa black sheep. His name
is Star of Bethlehem because his owners got him on
the Russian Orthodox Christmas plus he has his little white
star on his head. Now that he's steadily growing and walking like
a bulldozer the name Star seems a little mild. He is
affectionately called our little Shashlik--which means shish kabob in
Russian (don't tell his mother)!
Star has two ewe lambs as his companions. They
are use to wearing diapers since they have been kept in a room of the
house. Bottle lambs such as these must be fed every few hours at
first so it was best for them to be near. Warmth is also critical
to them early in their life. As you can tell they have a nice fire
to sit next to.
