Nosey
A truly UniquePet is Nosey the hedgehog. Nosey lives in Florida
with her human friend Larah.
Larah first became interested in hedgehogs when her third grade class
raised a pet hedgehog named Hedgie several years ago. Hedgie would
curl up in a ball and make a sputtering noise whenever he got
scared. Laura could not help but be touched by how cute Hedgie was
and her teacher inspired her to go out and get her own hedgehog.
Larah saw Nosey in a pet store when Nosey was only 2 days old.
Nosey barely had any spines and her eyes were not even open the first
time they met. Larah convinced her parents that she had to have
Nosey. That was three years ago.
Nosey now happily spends her days with Larah. Her diet consists of
bugs, fruits, hedgehog food, treats, and cat food. Hedgehogs are
normally nocturnal by nature, meaning that they are awake and active at
night foraging for their food, and sleep during the daylight
hours. However, Larah has trained Nosey to stay up during
the day and to sleep at night. This makes Nosey very unique from
her other hedgehog siblings.
Larah thinks Nosey is really cute and we have to agree. Larah
also has several other pets, including Wind Dancer her Arab stallion, a
turtle, and an Australian Blue Healer (dog) named Sheila. She
seems to like all animals, even bugs, which gives her and Nosey
something else in common!
